What is Uncork’d Art™?

Uncork’d Art is a creative way for people to connect and spend a day or night out with friends and family.  We started off as a “paint and sip” art studio, but has since evolved the paint and sip concept into an art-themed lounge, wine bar, and studio where you can gather, eat, drink, and/or paint all under the same roof.  You have the choice to engage in one or all of those things… its up to you! We are still the great Uncork’d Art that you have grown to love in which we offer step-by-step instructional art classes, but you can now engage in other creative and artistic experiences. If you don’t feel like painting, you can walk in and grab a bite to eat or just chill.   If you feel like painting original work of art without any guidance, while listening to live music*, you can do that too! Whatever you like all in the same place!

How does the painting stuff fit in?

We offer our standard Just for Fun classes and Open Paint sessions.  We also have special events from time to time.

Can you tell more about the Just For Fun classes?

You have an opportunity to choose a featured painting on a specific date of our calendar. Each session is between 2 or 3 hour step-by-step system guided by instructors aka Art Entertainers to help create your very own masterpiece. Instruction will be given on creation of the themed piece; however, you are more than welcome to create your own masterpiece during the scheduled session. Reservations are typically required for our instructional Just For Fun classes.

Can you tell me more about the Open Paint sessions?

An Open Paint session,  is for those who want to do their own thing!  We are there should you need some guidance but there is no step-by-step instruction during Open Paint. You are welcome to use any of our gallery paintings for inspiration, or create something entirely your own! Depended on the locations, walk-in are accepted for open paint sessions, but are on a first-come, first-serve basis. Access is not guaranteed and is dependent upon space and availability.

Is there a minimum number of people required to reserve a Just for Fun art class?

For “Just for Fun” public classes, we require a minimum of 8 people. If you book a class and it is canceled due to not meeting the requirement of people attending, then you will be issued a credit towards your next class. We would typically let you know 1 or 2 days before the class, but on rare occasions, we would tell you let you know on the day of the class. We hate canceling classes as much you hate for your class to be cancelled.

How do I cancel a reserved Just For Fun public class or Open paint session?

Any changes to your reservation must be made AT LEAST 2 DAYS BEFORE YOUR SESSION! If you do not cancel or reschedule, 2 days prior to your scheduled session, you will lose your payment. If you do not show or cancel, then the credit card that made the reservation remains charged. As long as you cancel prior to 2 days before the scheduled session time, you will be provided a full credit that you can use for another session.

Customers are responsible to self-cancel or reschedule before this period. Please do so by logging into your Uncork’d Art account and performing the following steps:

My Account (located at the top of Calendar) Registration History > Details> Cancel registration> Select seats to cancel> Select Cancel Registration

What should I wear or bring?

Please wear something comfortable. It may get a little messy. Aprons will be provided. Please bring your imagination, and a photo ID stating that you are 21 and Over, if you want to drink alcoholic drinks. For Daily Deal Customers, please bring your Voucher and a photo

What happens if I did not complete my painting within the time allotted?

We will gladly give you an extra 15 minutes during the instructional classes. During our Open Paint sessions, you can pay a small fee for each 30 minute increments.

What happens if I am on the wait-list?

If seating is completely booked in a desired class/session, clients are given the opportunity to add their names to a waiting list without being charged. If a registered client from that session cancels, making a seat available, an email notification is sent to the waiting list letting them know how many seats are now available. If no one cancels, you will not receive a notification. You can go ahead and register for an available session anytime!

If a seat becomes available before you receive an email notification, go ahead and remove yourself from the waiting list by logging into your account, and selecting ” My Classes. ” You should now be able to register for the session of your choosing.

Private Party Stuff

How does private parties  work?

Events can be held at venues that Uncork’d Art regularly work with or come to you (Uncork’d Art To-Go™)!

In order to book a Private Party there is a minimum requirement of 10. Discounts are not valid open paint sessions or Uncork’d Art To-Go™.

Coupons are not valid for Private Parties, unless otherwise noted.

What is included in a private party?

Flexible times and dates to hold your event outside of our normal business hours

2 Hour instruction and supplies (canvas, paints, brushes, easels and aprons) for the painting.

Extra “Mingling” time for your group (30 minutes before and after instruction) (3 Hour option)

Custom Ambiance: Bring your Own Music/Playlist (CDs or MP3 players)

One Free glass of house wine for you and your guest. (Select Studio Locations Only) (Not valid with coupon).

We even alleviate the hassle of entertaining by organizing and/or providing catering options for studio parties only (additional pricing).


Do we get to choose the painting?

You are welcome to use any paintings from the Uncork’d Art database (please see here). If you have special request for a painting outside of our database, you would have to submit an image of that painting for instructor approval at least 14 days in advance. Additional charges may apply for special paintings.

Is Catering available? Can we bring our refreshments or food?

Outside beverages is not permitted. Uncork’d Art or the venue of choice will provide wine and drinks. Catering is available at Adams Morgan location. You would need to contact Habana Village separately at least 10 days before the event at 202-462-6310 or 202-905-3296. Ask for Maria.  

More Details about Payment Requirements?

Upon reservation we require a 50% deposit. Private parties are usually subject to instructor and space availability, so we ask that you give us at least 30 days notice to place a reservation. Depending on the size of a party, A final head count guarantee and final payment is due at least 7 or 14 days prior to your scheduled session. This guarantee may not be decreased after this time, but may be increased upon approval by Uncork’d Art.

You will be asked to give a 14 day cancellation notice. If you do not cancel or reschedule 14 days prior to your scheduled session, you will forfeit 25% of your deposit. If you do not cancel or reschedule 7 days prior to your scheduled session, you will forfeit 100% of your deposit. GET A FREE QUOTE HERE.

So, you offer food now?

We will be opening our Ashburn food option pretty soon! We will be operating as a full restaurant offering quality chef-inspired small plates. You will be able to come by just to eat and drink, or you can eat, drink and paint--Whatever you would like!

At our Adams Morgan location, we partner with Habana Village restaurant during our scheduled sessions. You can purchase food from Habana Village’s menu on days that they are open and eat before or during the class!

Do you have a full bar?

Yes, at our Adams Morgan and Ashburn (coming soon) location, we have a full bar with premium selections.

Eating and Drinking Stuff

Can I bring my own food?

Yes, you can bring your own light snacks (e.g. popcorn, chips) into the art session, but you cannot bring heavy foods. We have food for purchase.

Can I bring my own wine?

Unfortunately, we can’t allow customers to bring their own wine. There is wine by the bottle and glass for purchase.

What is the policy for bad weather?

If there is bad weather in the area, by default, we will make a determination to cancel sessions based on the federal government operating status in the Washington DC metropolitan area. If the “Federal agencies are CLOSED” according to OPM,  we will cancel sessions, otherwise sessions will take place as scheduled.   To find out if the federal government in Washington, DC is closed, please visit If it is the weekend, we will follow the weather reports, and follow-up by email with our status.

If we cancel, we will attempt to notify registrants using the phone number and email address listed on their registration forms.  It is important to provide us with accurate contact information when you register.  There are no refunds, credits, transfers or exchanges because of bad weather providing Uncork’d Art is open. Any classes that are canceled will be rescheduled or you will be given credit to your Uncork’d Art account for a future date.
